DASYLab 2020, 2016 and DASYLab 13 Techniques - Step by Step example for the new Script module

Creating a simple script with DASYLab 2020, 2016 or DASYLab 13 Full or Pro

This technical note is a supplement to the DASYLab Help. It uses the DASYLab Script module to create a complete new module that can be used by any DASYLab version (Lite, Basic, Full or Pro). You will need DASYLab Full or Pro to view and edit the script. The final script package that you create can be used by any level of DASYLab (Lite, Basic, Full, Pro or Runtime). The DASYLab Script module is available with DASYLab 2020, 2016 and DASYLab 13.0.

The DASYLab 2020 and DASYLab 2016 Script modules uses Python 2.7.10, which is included with the DASYLab installation.

The DASYLab 13.0 Script module uses Python 2.6.5, which is included with the DASYLab 13.0.0 installation.

The intent of this note is to familiarize you with the steps necessary to create a script and to deploy it as a module.

This example will show you how to create a simple Scaling script.  It takes two parameters, a factor and an offset, a and b, which will be applied as f(x) = ax + b, where x will be the input channel value and f(x) is the output channel value.
