DASYLab 2016 Technical Note - Step-by-Step Example - Creating a Simple Mathematics Script

Creating a simple script with DASYLab 2016 Full or Pro

Introduction

This technical note is a supplement to the DASYLab Help. It uses the DASYLab 2016 Script module to create a complete new module that can be used by any DASYLab version (Lite, Basic, Full or Pro). You will need DASYLab Full or Pro to view and edit the script.

The intent of this note is to familiarize you with the steps necessary to create a script and to deploy it as a module. The steps in this note are referred to in more advanced Script technical notes.

This example will show you how to create a simple Scaling script.  It takes two parameters, a factor and an offset, a and b, which will be applied as f(x) = ax + b, where x will be the input channel value. Once the script is complete, it will be exported, compiled into a script package, and then packaged for use with the DASYLab Configurator.

The included DASYLab package will install the new module into DASYLab and extract the example script to the DASYLab Worksheet folder.
