USB-QUAD08 and LabVIEW using MCCDAQ.DLL (.NET), Encoder Modes

UPDATE: With the release of MCCDAQ CD/Download 6.55 and ULx for NI LabVIEW 2.2.0, USB-QUAD08 and USB-CTR04/8 (Encoder, Period, Pulsewidth, Timing and Totalize modes) are now supported.  However, if you prefer to continue using the .NET layer of MCCDAQ.DLL, support can be found here.

Currently, ULx for NI LabVIEW does not include standard support for quad encoders.  However, a work around exists in the form of examples programs provided by the tech support department. The example attached to this article demonstrates various modes but are not distributed through MCC normal channels. The attached file is a NI LabVIEW 2009 (x64) Library (.LLB) file that contains examples that demonstrate the various ways to use encoders.

There are 6 VIs in this LLB file: 
Encoder Polled Mode.VI -demonstrates software polling an encoder. 
Encoder Scan Mode.VI -demonstrates streaming data from an encoder.
Period Mode Scan.VI -demonstrates streaming data, reading the period of a TTL signal, also returns the frequency.
Pulse Width Mode Scan.VI -demonstrates streaming data to read pulse width of TTL signal, useful for PWM measurements.
Totalizer Polled Mode.VI -demonstrates software polling of counting pulses (totalizing).
Totalizer Scan Mode.VI -demonstrates streaming data of counting pulses (totalizing).
